Dangote Refinery seals merger acquisition of Savannah Sugar Refinery Ltd.

Dangote refinery has completed the acquisition of the business undertakings, assets, and property rights of Savannah Refinery Limited in a court-ordered meeting of the members of Dangote Sugar Refinery plc at Eko hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

 

Access Bank Plc advanced discussions to acquire Cavmont Bank Limited, Zambia.

Access bank through its wholly-owned subsidiary Access Bank Zambia is in advanced discussions on a possible merger deal with Cavmont Bank Limited, Zambia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cavmont Capital. Although the bank says there are no guarantees the deal will see the light of day, the potential transaction relates to the sale of 100% of Cavmont Capital’s interest in Cavmont Bank to Access Bank Zambia.

 

VCCP wins Walkers Advertising Account after a Competitive Pitch

VCCP has replaced Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO as the Advertising agency for Walkers UK, after their split in May. VCCP announced the new development through its website after a competitive pitch in the final round against Uncommon Creative Studio.

Agile communications, an integrated marketing firm based in Lagos, is now the Advertising Agency for Mandilas Group Limited, the accredited dealer for Toyota cars and Carrier Air Conditioners in Nigeria.

Multichoice Group upgrades Show Max TV with Live Stream Feature.

In a bid to meet up with competing demands in the market, Multichoice upgraded Show Max Pro to start streaming live sports, including Premier League soccer. The streaming service is available in both Kenya and Nigeria, with plans o expand to other countries within the next four to eight weeks.  

 

Uber Agrees to Pay $2.65 Billion for the Acquisition of Postmates Food-delivery service.

Uber has agreed on a deal worth 2.69 billion dollars for Postmate in a bid to expand its foodservice business. The ride-hailing company, with the approval of its Board of Directors, announced the new development, which will make Uber expand its market share.

 

Twitter CEO announces funding for Universal Basic Income.

Jack Dorsey has announced a donation of $3 Million to a group of US mayors of more than a dozen US cities to fund universal-basic-income pilot programs. The fund will be used to fight poverty and meet citizens’ basic needs.

Eco Bank Appoints New Chairman, Alain Nkontchou.

Eco Bank Plc announced through a press statement to the Nigerian Stock Exchange, the appointment of Mr. Alain Nkontchou as the Chairman of the Pan African bank. He has taken over from Mr. Emmanuel Ikazoboh, who resigned after been the Chairman for six years and has reached the retirement age of 70 years.

 

Fidelity Bank Appoints new Chairman, Mustafa Chike-Obi.

Mustafa Chika Obi is the new chairman board of directors of Fidelity Bank Plc. The appointment will take effect on August 14, 2020, after the tenure of the current Chairman, Mr. Ernest Ebi.
